Senior Human Resources Advisor

Overview

Are you a seasoned Human Resources professional looking for a new challenge in a position where you can make a real difference? If yes, read on! This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Human Resources Advisor to provide a full range of HR services to the BC Securities Commission staff. This is a generalist role that will provide you with a lot of job variety. You’ll be leading recruitment, coaching managers and other staff in regards to HR policy and legislative interpretation, compensation and classification issues, health and safety initiatives, the performance review process, and training and development. You will report to the CHRO and be a strategic partner to promote and foster positive organizational culture, and drive continuous improvements across all aspects of the HR function.

 

 

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing coaching to managers on the recruitment process, evaluating the effectiveness of selected strategies and participating on the interview panels
  • Conducting classification and salary progression reviews
  • Advising managers regarding HR policies, government legislation and other legal obligations
  • Collaborating with the CHRO in the development of human resource policies and procedures
  • Assisting with employee relations issues through counselling managers and employees to maintain good employee relations
  • Managing WorkSafeBC, STIIP, and LTD benefit cases
  • Collaborating with the CHRO on organizational and strategic HR initiatives (DEI, employee engagement, etc).

You are an experienced HR professional who is adept at building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you have a passion and expertise in a variety of HR disciplines, and can contribute to the strategic value of the department. You have a degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline, plus a minimum of five years of HR work experience, the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and strong analytical skills. You also have a commitment to continuous learning, an intellectual curiosity, and are comfortable making formal presentations.

Salary Range:

The salary range for the Senior Human Resources Advisor is $106,678 (minimum) - $138,543 (midpoint) - $170,407 (maximum).

The starting salary for this position will be determined considering the successful candidate’s relevant experience and education, salaries of other employees in the same salary range, market conditions and other relevant factors. Starting salaries are normally below the salary band midpoint.
